that Les Moonves, head of CBS, whom Rather said is a good man… yet Moonves said the equiv of ‘Donald Trump is bad for the nation, but good for CBS’ meaning bringing in a ton of money, and yet… the networks have given Trump over an estimated Billion dollars in free time on air. Rather hopes Mooves will retract that quote.

that press has gone surface on prez nominees when it ought to be investigative and deep and swift
that press HAS TO confront the lies of candidates for prez nominee, instead of softballing [for money inflow.]
that press has definitely contributed greatly to the rise of Trump in nomination caucuses [by giving hours and hours of air time, and it would appear too… by treating caucuses as though they are elections by the entire R or D electorate voicing their preference: they are not.
that giving hours, days, weeks, months of free air time to one person, is seen by some as entertainment…[it would appear that interviewing and softballing a buffoon on air brings in ad dollars big time in msm, therefor many many solicitations from msm to those designated as the buffoon… in order to give a venue to buffoon’s buffoonery–more money rushing into the msm]
There is more. It was an amazing interview –with Rather, who included himself in his scathing remarks re chasing stories without also digging deep…
We all remember the day Rather died. And still, he speaks yet. This time, truths. Long overdue truths… My best thought about this is that we will hear more from him in coming days… and that many will instead of shrugging ‘it is what it is’ will actually be heartened, and hopefully motivated to leave the house and go join up the local for Truth and not vapidity.
As an aside, I heard Trump exhorting today, paraphrased here: ‘Just let me handle it, dont worry, you dont have to be involved, I’ll fix it and you’ll be happy. You dont have to be part of it. I know how to do this. You’ll be happy. Stay out of it. I’ll take care of it.’
That should be front page news. We are to be 1950s housewives, men included, and just dust the Frigidaire and let the real ‘man of the house’ [and senate and presidency] do whatever he sees fit. We need not, men and women all, worry our little heads about ‘daddy’ taking care of the big bad whatever. And the payback for daddy doing so, is what? You who are old enough know the answer.
My question is, why is THAT Trump speech not front page news in MSM? How can people in media have forgotten that that kind of rhetoric we have heard before… and what came of it was the biggest bloodshed of our generation that ever existed.
