Talking Points Memo points out Chuck Todd saying it’s all about the messaging when it comes to the Affordable Care Act. The reason that people dislike the ACA is because the Republicans have successfully pushed their message and the White House hasn’t. There is no mention of the dominance of conservative media like Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and Fox News and how they successfully push complete lies. Death panels, anyone?

Todd later took to Twitter to deny that he meant that journalists shouldn’t call out lies. The defense would ring more true if only modern journalists called out lies when interviewing subjects. Given that I’ve never seen that happen I just can’t buy Todd’s claim on Twitter. Can anyone think of one recent instance of any mainstream journalist, including Chuck Todd, just showing some spine and calling a lie a lie? I know that I can’t. Maybe modern political reporters could get a second job working with Joe in his other career.
