Every once in a while we need a story that makes us feel better.
Zach Lipson was born eight weeks premature and had to endure countless surgeries as a child. He has a spinal deformity that will prevent him from ever growing much past four feet tall.
His childhood was a mix of hospital stays and enduring the teasing that came from some of his grade school classmates. By any standard he has every right to feel sorry for himself but he has done just the opposite.
Drawing on his Christian faith he realized that he could be an inspiration to others and could share his faith and his determination to succeed as well as the humility he had learned.
Wherever he goes he will share his story, often with total strangers and more times than not he will leave them the better for having met him.
As a young child he hated athletics because it seemed to be the very symbol of his inability to be like everyone else. But when he took over as student manager of his school team that changed and he became one of the best managers around.
He harbored hopes of continuing that role in college but few thought he could manage that. But few people are like Zach.
Working hard to improve his grades he won admission to his dream school, the University of Kentucky. And as you might have guessed he’s going to be student manager.
God Bless Zach.
