Update: 20,000 inside over 8,000 outside.

While it’s true that Western Oregon is the final resting place of old hippies like me I still think it’s significant that one of the largest political rallies that ever occurred happened in Portland, Oregon.
PORTLAND, Ore. — Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders filled the Moda Center to capacity, and then some, Sunday night.
“This is the only guy who is really good and that is why he can get 10,000, 15,000 or who knows, we are aiming at 20,000. That would be wonderful,” said supporter Russ Miller of Portland.
Sanders announced last week that he would host a rally at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The venue changed after it became clear more than 12,000 people, the capacity of Veterans Memorial Coliseum, would show up.
Moda Center staff told KGW they expected at least 18,000 people. Not only was the 19,980 capacity at Moda Center full, but thousands were forced to listen outside.
Donald Trump continues to get the majority of media attention but for how long can they ignore Bernie Sanders? While the Donald represents the frustration of many so does Bernie.
