What does Scott McClellan’s book tell us about the Bush Administration? Around the world the answer to this varies, but none are particularly flattering.
In an editorial, Egypt’s Arabic-language Al Gomhuria writes:
“U.S. President George W. Bush pretended yesterday that the military strategy in Iraq was a success. The American president, preparing his luggage for his departure from the White house, seeks a victory for the history books. And while he imagines Iraq as the scene of this victory, former White House spokesman Scott McClellan has described Iraq as the greatest strategic blunder Bush ever committed … Indeed – the Iraqi curse that dogged Bush inside the White House will follow him outside the White House!”
“This is a damning indictment of a presidency that has been viewed by many as either bumbling or deceitful. If McClellan is to be believed, Bush and his team of advisers were the latter.”
