Is former House Speaker Newt Gingrich actually a Democratic Party mole, working to chase (yet) more women away from Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump? Just wonderin’…
There are meltdowns in American politics, perhaps the most famous of which being Richard Nixon’s 1962 “You won’t have Nixon to kick around anymore” press conference comments upon losing his race for California Governor. And now we have Trump surrogate Newt Gingrich, who was on Fox News’ Megyn Kelly’s show and accused her of being “fascinated with sex” for asking about the women coming forward who charge Trump with being a sexual predator.
Gingrich’s melt-down is one for the ages and, if anything, will confirm the feeling among many women voters — including Republican women — that Trump doesn’t deserve their vote. Meet the equivalent of the Richard Nixon ’62 meltdown for the 21st century:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RVqTfIKGbUGingrich was probably surprised at getting these questions so assertively from Kelly. After all, he’s often on Sean Hannity’s propaganda hour Fox News show. Hannity recently spent 15 minutes talking about the glories and trustworthiness of the National Enquirer (and yes, he was doing so because it had an anti-Hillary Clinton article, a story that would bust this town wide open that the mainstream media ignored — and because of anti-Trump bias).
Several reports have noted that now that Roger Ailes is out of Fox News, Rupert Murdoch’s sons’ long-term goal is to move Fox News in another, more mainstream direction — and Kelly is a big part of how they want to rebrand the network.
But the big impact of this confrontation will be in the days to come, as it’s played over and over, and (again) detours the Trump campaign to circle the wagons, as it already is blasting Kelly. The net result? It is NOT something that will help stop the women voters fleeing from Trump and his campaign in disgust.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, the Trump campaign and Trumpistas launched (yet another) wave of rage in a campaign that seems unable to go one day without being on some kind of personal warpath (and focusing on little things called “the issues.”)
@Megyn Kelly not a reporter. As Newt said, obsessed with sex. I say, political hack. You're finished,#kellyfile

Newt Gingrich sees pundits like Megyn Kelly as a cancer on our media, which is why, out of habit, he tried to serve her with divorce papers.
