Right now I can’t figure out how to re-publish a publish post I’ve gone back and edited like the one below. Please have patience. I will post very little until I can figure this out and get an answer. It’s allowing me to redit but there is no button I can see to republish.
UPDATE: This is one of the few “housekeeping” posts you’ll see on this site, only because it’s our maiden evening on WordPress. I found out I was doing something dumb, which is probably no surprise to those of you who’ve read my posts…So I can start posting. But it will take a bit to get used to the new set up.
ONE PROBLEM: Right now none of our posts on Sadaam Hussein’s execution, including our big roundup, are appearing on this version of TMV. We’ve asked the person who’s in charge of doing this reformat and conversion (and who is doing an incredibly great job) to check into it. So if you are looking for those posts, you need to go to the original links. Or go to themoderatevoice.powerblogs.com
REMEMBER TO BE PATIENT: I already see a comment about the old format beging better What you see tonight is NOT the final format. Your see part of it on the site. It will be fine tuned and refined over the next few days and then you’ll start to see some design changes.
COMMENTS: We note that this version of TMV is requiring registration for comments and also moderation of each comment. We’ll see what we can do about that, too, since at the old site there was an easy registration when you left your comment and we did not look at each comment before we let it on the site. As a rule, our policy is not to control discussion but to ensure that certain basic limits are respected. We seldom delete comments and have never deleted a comment simply because we disagree with it. That policy is unchanged.
So stay tuned!
From what I can tell the old format worked, this one so far eh not so sure.
Such as my posts not showing up. Or did I get banned? LOL

What do you mean Joe by republish? Just to edit, or to republish by creating a new date and time stamp for the post?
I went to edit the post below. To fix it like I did on every other sytem. But it is only saving it and is not putting my changes on the site.
Ummm . . . that sounds strange. On all the WP blogs with which I’m involved you can edit the posts and when you hit either save or the save and continue editing button it does save the changes on the original post. If its not doing that for you . . . perhaps there’s a software glitch . . .which is way above my pay grade–unfortunately.
Simply hit ‘save’ and that’ll do it. WordPress does not need to republish the page since it dynamically udpates the SQL database.
Er, guess I should have logged back in as myself.
Yeah . .that’s all I do. My two personal blogs are hosted by WP–but the third independent one is on its own server . . . but it seems to work the same way. The software templates look the same, at least on the creating end.
On the other hand if you want to update the time publication stamp, there’s a way that you can do that as well . . .but it should still save your edits whether you update the date/time stamp or not

Justin pointed me in the right direction. It was sheer stupidity on my part (something that isn’t unusual). Actually, WordPress is very similar to Moveable Type which I used when I used to post on the old Command Post blog.
Glad to see you’re making progress. This is already an improvement. WP is the way to go. Keep plugging away.
MightY clunky so far, I already miss the old clunky site.
