Just curious, but why do you link to this particular race. I mean, it’s interesting because Pawlenty was seen as a potential VP candidate. And the GOP just put their convention in the Twin Cities. But Pawlenty is one among many endangered Republican Governors. Ehrlich in MD, Carcieri in RI. Well, now that I think about it, most of the GOP-held Governors’ seats are actually open. Hmmm. Maybe this is interesting after all.
Texas is pretty much a lock for Perry, eventho 2/3rds of the citizens disapprove of him. The race is split between he, a dem, and two indys. Had it been a straight repub vs. dem it might be different, but then again he’s running against Chris Bell. Bell is not really a very strong candidate. Had the Dems been smart enough to get Strayhorn they might have had a shot.

Unfortunately I have two more years before the opportunity to vote against Matt Blunt again.
