Can you all help me out by recommending blogs by experts?
It would be nice to be able to read the opinions of people who are actually expert in their fields such as economics, taxes, foreign affairs, politics insiders…
One that I particularly like is Thomas Barnett
“Dr. Barnett is in high demand within government circles as a forecaster of global conflict and an expert of military transformation, as well as within corporate circles as a management consultant and conference presenter on issues relating to international security and economic globalization.”
I’d like to know ten folks like him in other important fields.
Even if we don’t agree with them, they raise the bar for credible opinions.
Brad deLong is a good place to start for economics – his site is searchable and he links to a lot of interesting people.

For general law expertise, try Professor Stephen Bainbridge. I’ll look for others, and hope you’ll share aggregated results in a follow-up post.
Bruce Schneier is a well-respected expert on security.
His blog isSchneier on Security http://www.schneier.com/blog/
Most of the volokh.com writers have reasonable experience in their field. Not sure if any count as experts, though.
I’ve heard both good and bad about TaxProf. Seems to be an expert by nearly any definition, but not much analysis as compared to simple news.
The only big one that comes up otherwise would be Mrs. Dawson of the Autism Crisis blog. Although she’s a distinct partisan on the matter, she’s a research assistant who has at least been named in some published works, and is the foremost English-speaking autism rights proponent. She’s also the only one (AFAIK) to have significant experience as an autistic individual during a court case.
Probably not an important field to you all, though.
Er, and I should have taken a harder look at those links.
Not a blog but this is a good start for the ME crisis, commentary by a variety of people who are experts.
I’d go to cspan on line and click on blogs. cspan has alot of links to people in thier fields. Who better to know?

Steve Clemons of The Washington Note fame – absolutely terrific on foreign policy, and uber-connected as well.
Panda’s Thumb for the Evolution / Creationism debate
I hear that Little Green Footballs are experts on Islamophobia. Give that a shot.
Juan Cole has great insights into foreign relations, especially the ME.
Thank you all. I am starting to visit these sites and add some of them to my regular circuit.
Please keep the ideas coming.
By routine is to first check into the NY Times (Subscription), Washington Post, and Real Clear Politics.
realclimate.org is an excellent site for climatologists discussing climate change and related subjects.
