I Need A New Car

…but I now know what kind of car I will definitely NOT BUY since they’ve picked a highly polarizing figure to promote their cars.

I’m going to rewatch the move Brazil. In that the populace is too busy shopping to care about living in an authoritarian government and whenever there is something to hide the government has a sale/giveaway on popular goods. The “You’re a Great American” slogan is just too much to resist making this connection.

  2. BrianOfAtlanta says:

Ah, Joe, you know that a Silverado is so you!

  3. AustinRoth says:

Mikkel – The original version of that movie (without the happy ending), is one of my all-time favorite. I think it is truly underrated. haven’t thought about it in a long time, though. I think I will join yo in re-watching it.

  4. pennywit says:

Actually, in that picture, he looks kinda like Michael Knight.

But what- perish the thought- if a liberal wins the Silverado? Will they still get the “great American” designation? I thought that was an oxymoron, LOL!

  6. Rudi says:

Nobody gotta problem with the Rosa Parks picture. The flag, apple pie puppies, but keep Rosa Parks out of an ad. If a Liberal wins, token Colmes will present the car to the LOSERLiberal.

  7. Joe says:

There’s another reason I wouldn’t buy a car that is advertised by Sean Hannity. It would only drive to the far right.

  8. The Babaganoosh says:

Thank goodness it’s not Paris ‘skank’ Hilton again is all I have to say about this one.

  9. Duff says:

Good Lord! Detroit can’t do anything right. Couldn’t have they run this by Marketing first?

  10. Jim Oliver says:

Please, oh please, don’t let Hannity advertise for Saturn! I can’t give up my baby…

  11. Gary says:

Woo-hoo! I loved my old Saturn, but switched to Ford last year. Just in time…

  12. Pyst says:

Thanks goodness I drive a Ford.

  13. Jim B says:

Funny they tout themselves as the great american car, except that they have a saab emblem up there. Saabs were created by swedes. Good cars, quirky though. Fast, smooth, and good gas mileage.
I say you go for a Toyota Joe, made here in America. 6 plants in the US, not too shabby for a Japanese car company.

  14. Pyst says:

Yup, one of those Toyota plnats is right here in Huntsville.
