Maybe you think I’m talking about Tom Dobbs, the fictional character Robin Williams plays in the new movie Man of the Year.
Well, I’m not, but the “real” Dobbs shares many of the same, independent-minded ideas that the fictional Dobbs puts forth on the silver screen. And maybe, just maybe, those ideas have the potential to spark a real candidacy to promote real change.
Lou Dobbs would be a great President. He seems to really care about the problems of common Americans, despite having been indoctrinated at Harvard.
Lou Dobbs is one of the few commentators I still respect, both for his intellect and his integrity. A life-long Republican, he has never flinched from pointing out the failures and excesses of the current party, and so also earns points for his independence.
He is one of the few out there who still speaks for the shrinking middle class, and aptly points out how much special interests dominate the voting patterns of the two major parties. I’m planning on watching his town hall meeting “War on the Middle Class” later on CNN. Unlike the War on Christmas or the War against Christianity, this is a very real and very dangerous phenomenum.
Why not go for it in ’08 Lou? It worked for Ahhhhnold!
Lou Dobbs is no longer a Republican
I do watch Lou two to three times a week and I think he’s one of the most balanced ones on TV. I do love how he’ll call foul on both the Left and Right without hesitation.
“Lou Dobbs is no longer a Republican”
All the better.
Yes- he’s an Independent, but the fact that he was a life-long Republican gives his schtick more street cred! He never sounds like he’s whining.
Bob Dobbs might violate the seperation of church and state.
