I live in Colorado and used to live right next to Musgrave’s district, and she’s downright scary. As you said, “Holy Smokes” may not be the best response, but as her challenger pointed out, if gay marriage is more important than the war in Iraq, immigration, port security, or rebuilding New Orleans, then you’re priorities are badly screwed up.
We’ve also got a candidate for Lieutenant Governor under Bob Beauprez (R) who seems to think that gay marriage leads inexorably to bestiality. As someone who thinks that Beauprez would be really bad for Colorado, I’m not at all complaining that he chose his running mate stupidly. What scares me, though, is that there are a number of places in the state where his running mate was actually a smart move….
I was wondering when they NeoCons were going to pull the Gay card out again. It is an election year so they need to scare their base into voting and nothing else has been as effective.

I really hope that most people are starting to realize that gay people aren’t all bad and that gay marriage/civil unions/etc are not going to end civilization as we know it.
As for agreeing with her, I want to put this just like the good Senator Stevens from Alaska said, “NO!!!”
I believe that the most important issue facing our country is to vote out of office anyone stupid enough to think that gay marriage is the most important issue facing our country.
Brian, I live in Colorado also, you are right, the scary part is that this stuff sells in her district.
