Cherokee Wisdom
Two Wolves
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.
He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all.
“One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
“The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf wins?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
That old Cherokee could have been my father or grandfather speaking that oh so very valid wisdom.
Its the inner fight in ourselves that is our hardest battle to win.
All to often, especially as of late I find myself feeding the bad wolf which is reflected as anger especially in politics and social issues.
It shows in my commented replies when I state some things driving points home hard and nasty.
However, sometimes that’s the only way to unmask others and bring them out into the open.
Yes, this has been good advice for anyone, for ages. And I’m not just saying that because I’m part Cherokee!
Great advice for anyone. And I’m not Cherokee.
Good advice for bloggers. Not sure what it has to do with Bush and Blair though.
“Not sure what it has to do with Bush and Blair though.”
“One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret,
greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego.
Bush has shown anger, greed, arrogance, false pride, superiority, and lied many times, so he’s feeding the wrong wolf. That’s why.
I don’t much pay attention to Blair but his poodle act exhibits inferiority.
1/4 Cherokee btw y’all.
