So for all the hype and panic the ad turns out to be nothing.
All it was is Mom talking about how she had a rough time with Tim and almost lost him a number of times. Then some humor with her and Tim and a link to the web site.
That’s it. No mention of abortion, no agenda, nada.
Which likely explains why CBS approved it.
Isn't the 'pro-choice' movement supposed to be about the woman being free to choose? Mrs. Tebow was offeered the choice of a legal abortion or carrying her baby to term, and chose the latter. the squawking is really coming from hard-line abortion advocates. To all of those – shut up. Mrs' Tebow CHOSE.
Much ado about nothing again, now its back to Palin's writing notes on her hand…….
*sigh*
Speaking as someone who was originally against the airing of the ad, I must agree, there is little to take offense to. What troubles me is the precedent it sets. In the past CBS has had a strict policy forbidding the airing of advocacy ads, now when a powerful Christian organization comes forward, CBS is happy to offer them a platform. This wasn't the case in 2004 when a church that advocates acceptance (the UCC) wanted to air an ad, it was rejected. Yet a group that some would argue advocates homophobia, misogyny and child-abuse is accepted. The commercial was subtle though, I'll give it that.
Child abuse? Apple sauce.
Hmmm…looks like the poster and commenters missed the point of the “hype and panic”.
But you have to admit, she make it too darn easy.
Indeed, much ado about nothing. It wasn't preachy, or condescending to the pro-choice movement. Actually, I thought it was rather charming.
Now, can he play in the big leagues?
BTW the latest from NOW is that the ad 'promotes violence against women' because of the fake tackle…..
No comment though on Betty White
