After four straight days of hearing what comes out of the cold hearts of pundits like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, and the demented mind of Pat Robertson, this moved me to my core.
I saw that story as well and it indeed is very sad.
“After four straight days of hearing what comes out of the cold hearts of pundits like Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh”
It seems you listen to them, or at least care about what they have to say, more than most conservatives do. Why do you do that to yourself? The best way to limit their influence is to ignore them, if limiting their influence is your goal.
they have huge audiences. They represent something truly dark and ugly in America. They bear watching (though I don't–my nausea tolerance is not that high) to see what the meanest spirited hateful underbelly in our nation is feeding on.
And yet is seems the more attention they get, the bigger their influence gets, to the point where Rush's low-blow on health care as he is released from the hospital is seen as straight news. I understand the impulse the react to his rhetoric, but giving into that impulse only makes him stronger, it seems to me.
And, although he has a large audience for a radio show, it is still small relative to the total population. I think most people are familiar with Rush and his views more from secondary sources than from Rush's show itself. Therefore, if people stopped talking about him, his “audience” (speaking in a general sense, meaning all of the poeple which his views reach) would be reduced by at least half.
Yeah that broke my heart to watch. Makes one want to go after the likes of these SOB conservative big mouths with a chain saw.
They seem to get more and more mocking and sarcastic in their contempt for the innocent as time passes. I see this as an indication of their desperation because soon, we will be taxing the living crap out of these rich selfish pigs.
The human soul requires nourishment and maintenance in order to stay healthy and whole, without which it becomes dried up and barren. A healthy soul understands empathy, love, and the bonds among people that help them rise above the ugliness and greed. A healthy soul doesn't make the advocacy of lies, division, hate, and self-worship it's life's work. May that poor child be reunited with god, a god of peace, justice, and protection, not a god of those who no longer know what a soul is supposed to be.
You know, it's possible I'm wrong, but after reading these comments, I'm getting the impression that no one here has any idea what I meant by “this” in “this moves me to the core.”
Actually, I don't listen to them. I do care about what they have to say, because they are so influential and have so much power to shape conservative politics.
.and BTW, it was on CNN a day before you posted it.
I didn't know that, but your having seen it already wouldn't be relevant to understanding why I posted it. You're not the only one who didn't get it, anyway. Explaining it now would be pointless.

I saw this on CNN this morn. Sad, so sad, too sad.
I saw that story as well and it indeed is very sad.

The little girl's death is tragic. The tie-in to Limbaugh and Beck seems gratuitous.

thank you for your thoughtful blessing JSpencer. It is much appreciated by me here on earth as it is in heaven.

Yes Kathy…..I do.
….mommy don't let me die….
Wrong.
The tie-in to Limbaugh and Beck seems gratuitous.
It's not gratuitous at all. It directly relates to why I posted the video.
Actually, I don't listen to them. I do care about what they have to say, because they are so influential and have so much power to shape conservative politics.
OK
Then explain it then.
…and BTW, it was on CNN a day before you posted it. Already saw it.

Well I just didn't want you to think I was insensitive.
I've been broken by this kind of thing several times but I've never had anything on the TV do it before this.
I wonder what Limbaugh thought of it? I wonder if anything could touch that sob?
