This is the problem with politicians…they can never not know something or thought about something. They have to BS around not knowing something and it makes them look even worse. How hard would it have been to say…
“I've never put any thought into which is my favorite. It is like asking a parent to name their favorite child…I respect them all equally.”
Well it doesn't seem like much of a gotcha but whatever.
Interesting idea tho who would you pick? Think about it. Washington, Hamilton, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, Adams and then there are people like Patrick Henry, the other Adams (Sam), Paine and von Steuben. People like John Jay and John Marshall. Honestly if you put any thought into it doesn't have to give you pause? I don't particularly identify with any one so it would almost be like ranking them and in this case the sum seems much more than the parts.
Its pretty clear what Fox is doing. They are discrediting her by allowing her to discredit herself, on behalf of the republican party, in order to finally get rid of her as a spokesperson for the conservative cause. Bet she lasts less than a month.
I tend to agree with you FT, about the “discrediting” part, although I don't know whether that is necessarily Fox's intent.
I think that even her most ardent base will get disillusioned after they see for themselves night after night her shallowness and lack of knowledge of national and world issues. And, then, there are the overexposure, over familiarity and jaded image issues. I sincerely believe that her handlers did her a great disservice by suggesting this role. I know she's making lots of money. If that's her objective, then more power to her.
Being a sort of cheap pragmatist, I would (if I were Palin) look at this Fox thing as a chance to do on the job (get paid) educational training. I would be trying to educate myself on issues with the help of staff and researchers and at the same time trying not to stick my Monolo Blahniks in mouth too much. Hey, it will provide great free pre-campaign exposure.
OK, that was a gotcha on your part, she is still transitioning from Timberlands, but it didn't sound right. Can't I lie? Must one be a journalist or a politician? Oh, the injustice.
I thought maybe the Manolos were a confirmed part of one of the 2008 campaign shopping trips.
Seriously, though, it would be great outreach to the Sex & The City demographic. Right now, my wife shudders every time she sees my copy of Going Rogue. But if she knew Sarah wore Manolos, everything would be different!
Yes, she whiffed a tee-ball question. But don't forget that most modern liberals don't know, either, or seek the antithesis, frequently, of what the Founders wanted, and if you want an inflammatory or a fulminant response, just introduce a modern liberal to the Anti-Federalists (who were anti-nationalists and even more anti-government than the Founders were).

Is it a confirmed fact that Gov. Palin wears Manolos? If so, she might be able to carry Manhattan.
I agree. That is very weak tea for a Palin gotcha. In fact, it may say more about her critics eagnerness to see ignorance even where it doesn't exist.

Yet, at night, when no cameras are on her, she slips into her favorite moose slippers.
Pat Buchanan is a politician. He just never got elected to anything, but as we all know he tried.
Yes, sometimes, he is trying. But, I noticed, since he is no longer an aspiring candidate, he speaks much more clearly. Primarily, he is a journalist.

Jefferson and Franklin were my favorites.
