Courage And Treason
The NY Time reporters who broke the warrantless wiretapping story have won the Pulitzer Prize. And yet, some on the right are still calling for them to be imprisoned.
So, in this new post 9/11 world, what does it mean to be courageous and what does it mean to be treasonous?

It takes a VERY strong case to be considered treasonous, and it annoys me to see how easily we on the right are tossing it about, as if it were race or femininity or class on the left. This was nowhere near treasonous.
But neither are they courageous. It’s pretty obvious that there are those in the media who want nothing more than to “GET BUSH!” and report even the most absurd things in an attempt to make the president look like the true bad guy (not in this instance, but an example would be the WP non-story). This is nothing more than a media circle-jerk, and it’s pretty shameful.
I’ll call them opportunistic, shameless scumbags, but they aren’t treasonous by any means. To insinuate as such is ridiculous. Isn’t treason punishable by death? Breaking a “story” warrants the death penalty?

Hold on there…shameless scumbags? These reporters sat on this story for an entire year. If that’s the mark of a scumbag, then you’ll have to show me what a good reporter looks like.
Baba have you ever taken an ethics course in college? To be honest holding this information was a disservice to the public the journalists serve. They have a sociital duty not unlike that of a doctor, and that is to inform them of what is happening, and especially what the public’s employees (public officials) are doing in their name. This isn’t a “get Bush” thing as much as it is a report whats really happening. We have been left if the dark for over 5 years by corporately owned media scared of doing it’s job, so I find this to be a return to their proper place, and duties. So it punctures a few gasbag polticos carefully controlled images, and lays bare the arrogance, and criminality of them a bit more. It is a nessicary thing to right what is going wrong regardless of a stupid R or D being somehwere in the mix. The country is more important than a political cult.

These same reporters also dug into Clinton – Lewinsky. The press is supposed to look at events and report, not be hacks at Fox like Hannity and Hume. To not be critical of either party in charge and just read a script is called a spokesman, not reporting.
