We here in Atlanta, with our epic commutes, are ready and able to lead the descent into economic collapse!

Brian, I challenge you then. We here in Dallas, home of the SUV, and truck commuting crowd shall challenge you Atlanta folk into economic collapse. Bring…It…On.

Though we do have a light rail system my wife uses daily. And I ride my motorcycle most days. So “we” personally are prepared…sort of.

FBI says New York is the safest big city in America, and now i guess it’s the most prepared for an oil crisis too. I live in NYC, and i was just getting ready to move upstate…
I think a little oil shock would be a good thing – we’ve made some progress toward energy independence but haven’t committed ourselves as a nation. We need to do more. http://www.greengop.org

    Jim,

    Heh.

I personally commute 8.2 miles, all back roads, and my wife commutes 1.6 miles so I guess we’re personally OK in a pinch as well.

I walk to work (and everywhere else, for that matter), so…I guess I’ll just have to sustain the indirect hit.
