I think sports heros, and Tiger Woods, are a lot like America, in the sense of what their outward image projects, the falsity of it and the inward rotting core — the infidel, the untrustworthy, the bloated, the arrogant, — I'm not really talking about the person of Tiger Woods, who remains hidden in all this, much like the real America. But there he is/there we are: outside: heroic/divine/warrior-like. Inside: rotted/arrogant/empty.
