Letterman didn't do anything illegal, did he? Has he been charged with anything? Well, extortion and blackmail are illegal. Having sex with a coworker, or even a subordinate is not. He could presumably get fired IF there's a written rule against it, IF there is a formal complaint, and IF his bosses think they would gain something by losing Letterman. But you know what? This happens all the time, and I'll bet every single reader here knows someone who has broken workplace rules of one sort or another. I'll bet fewer of us know anyone who has tried to extort $2 million from anyone. I sure don't.
I think the possibility is good for sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and, sexual extortion. Demanding sex from your employee subordinates has got to be illegal in someway…..surely.
I think this is a story of two criminals not just one.
While I'm not a huge fan of letterman, don't think I've watched more than 10 min in 10 years, the assumption that his actions equate to criminal are absurd and offensive. His admission is that he did something “creepy”. I have no idea what he considers creepy. I do know that 3 of his “relationships” with employees were long term and sure seem consensual with the ladies continuing to work with Letterman long after the affairs were over. To be honest I'm sure his behavior breaks some PC code of conduct but so far I haven't heard of squat he has done wrong. We don't know that he cheated while married. That he ever tried to “demand” anything. To be a success in his field, work the hours it takes, I have trouble seeing where else you would meet anyone.

Yeah I've about had it with Letterman's arrogance anyway. Time to put him in jail and get a new host.
Jim Traficant is a lot like Letterman. Maybe he could take over?
