BREAKING: Mary Travers Has Died of Cancer

I just found out, via TPM, that Mary Travers, of the 1960s and ’70s trio Peter, Paul, and Mary, has died of cancer at the age of 72.

This hits hard.

Rest in peace, Mary — you who believed in peace so deeply and sang about it so beautifully.

And to Mary’s partners in song, Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow, and to her family and friends, my heart goes out.

May her name be for a blessing.
