I feel an addiction coming on

Just watched the first episode of (the new) Battlestar Galactica. I wanted to try it, but assumed it would keep my interest for only a few episodes. My wife only agreed to watch because she is a gracious and generous woman. For the first thirty minutes, she made snide remarks. At the sixty minute mark she asked me if an hour had really gone by. At the eighty minute mark, I told her we had to go to sleep because we’re going to California tomorrow. She begged for just ten more minutes. How could I say ‘no’?

Please no spoilers in the comments!

Excellent stuff. On season 4.5 here. You have a lot to look forward to!

  2. I can say with confidence that I've been exactly where you are now… except without the support or companionship of the wife that is. I picked up the first season thinking that it would be interesting maybe enough for a sci-fi fix and that would be it. But I pretty much fell in love with it from the get go and I can tell you now that by the end of the season you'll need more than a sci-fi fix, you'll need more Battlestar. Good luck, and perhaps we should start a group to help people like us get past the dependency. LOL

You're in for one hell of a treat.

    No more battlestar buttcrack please.

These gen whatever children, good grief.

I echo Gherald L. One helluva treat with twist, turns, intrigue, raw emotion (lots of it), etc. Just a great series. Legend in its own time.

i can verily relate .. as an old hand trek fan [TOS, next gen] the same thing happened to me with babylon 5. a good friend insisted i give it another try after i had told him my misgivings over the pilot. i borrowed his VHS tapes [about ten years ago, mind you] and quickly got hooked. some of the best sci-fi i've ever seen. we live for the one, we die for the one

enjoy your trip with the colonial fleet. so say we all

BSG (the new one) is one of the best SciFi series of all time (indeed, I think it is one of the best series ever).

Likewise, B5 was terrific (although the pilot was slow and the first season rather uneven).
