What was most remarkable about Obama's stupid remark and behavior wasn't the predictable, irritating emergence of the activist worms out of the woodwork trying to hype “racial profiling” (CNN rivaled in its stupid example of this behavior the obscession with Michael Jackson after Jackson's death, for example), and the related extremists with their “white-privilege-and-domination” Sixties radical nonsense.
It wasn't the failure of the liberal media to admit bias and overreaction for no valid reason whatsoever that dwarfed the behavior of Gates and Obama.
It wasn't the lack of common intelligence that would immediately debunk a bogus excuse for liberal activism, such as that “profiling” by police centered on crime centers on *** YOUNGER *** people, who are the ones perceived as likely threats (older people like Gates are not seen as such, obviously).
What was most important was Obama's statement after his damage control admission he may have been out of line, that either betrayed a common concern I've had about him and some in Washington of being elitist and out of touch with the public and basic reality, which may explain the otherwise illogical extent to which he and the Dems have rashly pursued bad legislation that the public opposes in large measure.
He actually claimed he was “surprised” at the (normal, obvious) negative public reaction to his stupid remark (and to the hype about racial profiling and its activist baggage which we predictably saw here).
It's either another sign of elitism or a failed (elitist?) attempt once more to manipulate public opinion (as part of damage control), as if he assumes he still has a huge cult following and many more are gullible than is the actual case.
Obama should add barbecue to the beer — spare ribs, pork chops, maybe a ham — then invite the Iranians and the Palestinian terrorists to join him for food and drink while he asks them to reconsider their stances on Israel and the Israelis.

Oh, well.
