UPDATE: Politico Posts Palin’s Unusual July Fourth Facebook Message

sarah-palin2

In my “Gail Collins Interprets Palin’s Resignation Speech,” we discussed how “disjointed and garbled” Palin’s prepared text remarks are, and, referring to her resignation speech, how incoherent even her prepared remarks are.

Well, Politico.com has just published the text of a message Palin posted on Facebook just a few hours ago that is just as incoherent.

According to Politico, the message describes reactions to her indecipherable resignation speech as “predictable, ironic, and as always, detached from the lives of ordinary Americans who are sick of the ‘politics of personal destruction.’”

In her Facebook message, Palin bemoans: “How sad that Washington and the media will never understand; it’s about country. And though it’s honorable for countless others to leave their positions for a higher calling and without finishing a term, of course we know by now, for some reason a different standard applies for the decisions I make.”

However, she does not disclose what this “higher calling” might be.

It's beyond me how anyone can support her or defend her anymore. She's a one-woman wrecking crew.

Oh, who cares about the political implications -- I'm just watching for the entertainment value alone!

Agreed, it's incoherent... unless maybe one is privy to Palin's personal definition of the word, "ironic".

A month ago, couldn't buy (or coherently write) an editorial in a community paper. Today, front page news in every paper and blog in the country. Palin does it again...

Yeah but sensationalism is not a good way to keep the public's attention-it's shallow. No substance. It works only short term. And the public has a very short attention span. Take Octo-mom for example. Trust me on that.

    Palin's drama is getting boring.

My guess is that Palin crumbled under the increased media scrutiny that has come her way since McCain first announced her as his running mate. She thrived in obscurity as Wasilla's mayor and Alaska's first female governor, but couldn't handle the tough stuff on the national scene.

Probably Palin's resignation makes no sense because she is feeling the need to take herself and her family out of the public eye, yet strives to appear noble while doing so. This is necessary in case she decides at a later date to seek the presidency or run for the senate.

I'd say that we dodged a bullet by not electing the McCain/Palin ticket, because she would have fallen apart in office.

why would you want some one as president who will complete their currant duties? she would just bail out as president when the times get tough.

Why would you want palin as president when she won't finish her currant duties. She would just bail out when the going gets tough. I really belived in her what a disappointment.

"Currant" is a fruit. "Current" duties is correct grammar. Palin rocks.

    "Currant" is a fruit.

Well, she is a little "fruity..." (In the "silly" sense)
