Cool Map

Sen. McCaskill (D-MO) plots Missouri stimulus projects via her Senate office Web site.

I don’t see anything similar on the Web site for Sen. Bond (R-MO). Not surprising, I suppose, considering his “no” vote on the stimulus bill.

Do either of your U.S. Senators offer a resource similar to McCaskill’s? Also, while we can probably guess the answer, I’ll ask the question anyway: Does the presence or lack of such data track with their stimulus votes?

Senator Feingold has a tracking map. Not quite as much info as McCaskill's but useful still.

    Link to Feingold's

That's a very cool map Pete. It would be nice to have something like that in South Carolina. Unfortunately, with Sen Graham, I get a 94-page pdf. Sen DeMint is adamantly opposed to all of it, so there isn't even any mention of it on his website. And of course, Governor Sanford is still fighting with with state legislators about accepting any of it.

It would be nice if she added a counter showing how much each one of those projects is going to add to the national debt and how much taxes her children and grand children will have to pay for those projects. I wonder how much state and local governments wil have to spend in the out years to maintain the projects being built today. I doubt that there are any neat graphics on that.

Ask yourself, if you were a privatge company thinking about investing would you do it in a state where the Senator and Democratic party are so addicted to pork barrel spending?
