I read this earlier and am kind of surprised so far at the lack of reaction in the blogosphere. I would guess this still leaves room for congressional investigations or impeachments which I believe I read would be fall at the earliest.

Apparently, this makes perfect sense to liberals.

Although there is no crime to prosecute, some on the left seem to think it’s a good idea to have the country’s Justice Department recommend “sanctions” by state organizations against people who the administration disagrees with on policy.

Currently, ventriloquism is not against the law so Gandelman cannot be prosecuted for anything. However, should he displease the current residents of the White House, Joe could be targeted for “sanctions” that would effectively ruin his career.

Sound like the Hope and Change you voted for?

What’s next? Threatening and extorting people and companies outside of the bankruptcy laws? Oh, yeah. That has already happened.

I believe the archives will show that I was the clairvoyant on this outcome of events about 3 weeks ago……..however, congratulatory emails from my antagonists are not required.

In a similar vein, those very same people have also been obsessed with “when will the moderates show any inkling of trending back Republican” or a variation on that theme. Here is another prediction……..as soon as the Dems start those very same things you refer to above, DaGoat.

“Although there is no crime to prosecute”

That is what grand juries and criminal prosecutors decide, not you.

Meanwhile, the trial is moving forward in Spain, with whom we have an extradition treaty. And now those “bad apples” we prosecuted for torturing prisoners in Abu Ghraib are suing, since it's now clear they were scapegoated. This drama is far from over.

Torture is illegal according to national and international law. We tortured and committed illegal acts. Who did what and broke which laws should be determined by a trial.

The party which claims to be for personal responsibility, the party which claims to be tough on crime and the party that wants to lock up anyone breaking laws, even possession of marijuana for medicinal purposes… this party does not believe the law applies to them, even if their actions have locked up innocent people for years and killed other innocent people. These people should be shown to the woodshed.

Actually, they have already screwed the pooch on Yoo, and cannot have him sanctioned or disbarred:

Stockboy why are you criticizing the GOP? This is Obama/Holder's decision, not the GOP's.
