jwest— Its not that Joe is obsessed with Limbaugh- its that he sees that Rush has an unhealthy amount of influence on the Republican Party that is dragging it and the two-party system into the ground.
Whether or not he's just an entertainer- he is the face of today's GOP– a sad thing for the party's leadership. They definitely need to break away in order to regain their former congressional majority.
Sure, Kim, and the GOP was just concerned with the way Bill Clinton's zipper problems might affect national security. (and don't jump on that as a “Clinton did it to” before you notice that I'm criticizing the GOP there, not Clinton.)
There's no attempt here either to express faux concern, is there? It couldn't be part of the intentional strategy as articulated by Carville and Begala, huh?
At least Rush talks about issues every day. The rest of the Republican Party such as McCain appear to be too lazy to read their briefing books and too stupid to understand the issues.
If the Repubicans want to limit the effects of talk radio, then the Republicans have to start talking about issues, start believing what they are saying, and start acting on what they are talking about. As long as elected Republicans are more interested in pork barrel earmark and nepotistic jobs for their family members, then of course, Rush is going to set the agenda.
Perhaps you could explain why you think Rush Limbaugh would take offense at being called “just an entertainer”?
This obsession you have with a radio talk show host is unhealthy, to say the least.
Here is a BBC report that has something you could get upset over and possibly write about: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/800…

JWest, Limbaugh already got upset when Michael Steel said the same thing.
Good for Tiahrt, hopefully he sticks to his guns.

It's really quite amazing, the GOP's reluctance to distance themselves from very dynamic that is shrinking their party.
I find it all quite “entertaining”, personally.
