NY20: Tedisco Wins! Errrr…

Going all the way back to Bush v Gore 2000 right up through the 2008 runoff Senate election in Georgia and the endless ballet being danced by Norm Coleman and Al Franken, clearly Americans are tired of long, drawn out, contested electoral battles. Seizing on this groundswell of voter unrest, Jim Tedisco made a bold move last night and asked the county Supreme Court to put an end to this nonsense and declare him the winner.

COLUMBIA COUNTY — 20th Congressional District candidate Republican Jim Tedisco submitted a petition to the Dutchess County Supreme Court Thursday asking the judge to declare him the winner of the extremely close special election race, despite the numbers currently being in favor of his opponent, Democrat Scott Murphy.

The last count total seems to show Murphy up by more than 100 votes, though a few counties still have more absentee, military and challenged ballots to sort out, so this is a daring move indeed! But unfortunately, this is a request that I don’t think you could even get Justice Scalia to vote in favor of. Still, I have to agree with Josh Marshall on this one… why didn’t Norm Coleman think of that?

Tedisco's team is so concerned about getting all votes counted correctly that they blew off yesterday afternoon to go the Yankee game – now that is leadership and integrity we can all line up to follow.

What a fool. The Saratoga County absentee/military ballots have already been counted and Murphy's lead is still safe. The only ballots left to be counted are those that Tedisco challenged. Nate Silver has Murphy winning in the end by about 500 votes, once the challenged ballots are counted (Murphy did not challenge many ballots).

Tedisco just can't accept the fact that his party is a lost cause in the State of New York – even in a conservative district when the Democratic opponent is a no-name.

Not really just a no-name, but a no-name with zero experience and a couple of landmines in his background.

    Good Job George W Bush…

Is it too late for me to ask a judge to give me that Congressional seat?

Plus, I'm really interested in the issues facing Minnesotans!
