The first old fart in the cartoon is my favorite. I was watching Fox last night (which is something I do to keep an eye on the enemy...lol...) and this talking head I remember who is getting on in years kept stammering."..well we need tax cuts...I know spending is stimulative but we need tax cuts....we need tax cuts.. we need tax cuts..." And the whole time he was saying this he was wringing his hands and his eyes were darting around and not making contact with the camera like they usually do. He looked like a heroin addict going through withdrawels.
The bottom line is this: Congress is so used to dining on pork for themselves and their little cloister of buddies, that even to save their own fiscal necks, sitting in the palace made up of little bricks of working stiffs, they won't take quick action at the bottom, the foundation, to save their own hides even. It is so REFLEXIVE of them to fatten at the money trough while those who work the hardest get the crumbs they throw to keep from being thrown out, that their affliction no longer is a conscious one. They're more that of a spoiled three year old with a gangrenous tooth infection who throws a tantrum when daddy won't get her 'JUST ONE MORE LOLLIPOP!!!'
Spoiled little children ought to not be running our country right now. And we're keeping a list of the rich who scream 'TAX CUTS!" for the wealthy as means to "save" the poor. Those elections just keep coming around coming around... And we're going to sit on what little money we have left and not buy cars, drive slower, burn less oil...recycle, enact alternative energy plans, do without and buckle down. The economy will grind to a halt and I'll tell you what, the poor masses are used to making-do in a pinch. The rich are verily going to PANIC without their imported wine and cheese. Imagine them standing in line at a market to buy Hamburger Helper. THE HORROR! And yet it's coming at a videostore near you, in the comedy section. We'll have the last laugh.
