On Bipartisanship (The Poem)

Bipartisan’s a lovely word
It comes across so brotherly
But for our own Republicans
It has a meaning otherly.

Of course (they say) we want to help
It’s our country, too (they say)
Though to acquire this precious gift
Go our way or we won’t play.

And when a Democrat says “Do not fear.”
    “We want to work together.”
Their meaning soon becomes all too clear.
    “We'll work together? Never.”

Yeah… no. Zero House republican votes on the stimulus package? After days of talks and concessions made by the White House?

One side is playing ball, the other side just picked up their toys and went home.
