So Who Should Replace Bill Kristol As The New York Times’ Columnist?

Here’s one idea (and we have linked to him and he is indeed solid).

    1. Paul Krugman — making his liberal parrot and Dem party hack role open and honest in a newspaper noted for being such ways.

    2. Maureen Dowd — vapid, normally having nothing of value to say, but beloved by the Manhattan cocktail dim-Dem clucking-hen crowd.

    3. David Frum — just to torture you. Plus, he advocates a new kind of Republicanism and “conservatism” [sic] that is blatantly Dem Lite. Of course, it means he has to leave Washington (where so many “conservatives” [sic] and hypocritical anti-Washingtonian Republicans congregate and live long lives there, as lobbyists, celeb-crowd hangers-on, or actual GOP operatives) and go to New York to do this.

    4. Ann Coulter — just to torture you even more, revive her “career,” and give you a much more tempting token-conservative target in the Times than lightweight Kristol ever was. (But doesn't she also live in where else, Washington, and would have to relocate to New York?)

Whew…for a second I thought the link was to Michael Reagan.

How about Sarah Palin? Pre-2012… [more torture -- call me Mr. Gitmo]

    DLS: call me Mr. Gitmo.

I'd be glad to. Seriously though, Bill Kristol really did serially fail to capitalize on the opportunity to explain what conservatism is/was to the NYT audience. In fact, IMO, he was a serious detriment in that regard. As for his replacement I can think of a few names: Matt Dowd, one of the Kagan brothers, even perhaps Scott McClellan. Or Christopher Buckley? Or… how about Dana Perino? She may be looking for a sideline.

Trevino doesn't stick to anything. The internet is littered with his former websites
