Fuel Cell Stunt Backfires (sort of)

A new member of the House named Eric Massa decided to make a bit of a publicity stunt by driving a fuel cell car to his swearing in this week.

One minor problem, the car he drove can only go 150-200 miles without a recharge and the drive to DC was around 300 miles. So he had to use two cars.

Each car had to be towed to and from his dropoff points meaning the tow trucks used way more fuel and put out way more pollution than a normal car would have.

Aside from being a silly stunt, it’s interesting to note what some of the readers of the newspaper article have. The story does not mention (indeed none of the mainstream media stories I’ve seen bother to mention) his party affiliation.

One guess as to what his party is….

One guess as to how the story would have played if he was a member of another party…

    Wow!

Members of one party get the blame for everything even though members of other the other party are silly!

    Thanks for explaining it all!

Actually Mr. Orwell I did not say that.

I am sure members of both parties are equally capable of dumb things.

However for some reason when a Democrat does something dumb like this the media manages to forgot to report party ID.

    People know how to read.

I'm satisfied with what I wrote.

By Rove! I think you may be onto something..

The little hypothetical at the end is a bit weak. Oh my, someone didn't put party ID at the end of a story how incredible. People notice things that aggravate them, but ignore things that don't. I've seen plenty of stories where the Rs or Ds were left out. I'm not prepared to make a big plot out of it unless somebody provides more than “have you ever noticed” type data.
