« Two Gallup Polls Show McCain’s Huge Challenge In Battle Against Obama
Why Republicans Should Be Nervous Over The Obama McCain Debate »
A baseball statistician, Colbert asks how he would sum up the race in baseball terms:
I think it’s bottom of the ninth inning, McCain’s down two runs, and Sarah Palin just got picked off of first base.
The crowd roars. 538′s predicting an Obama wins with 345.4 electoral votes. Watch:
That Colbert is so quick. What a joker..lol…
I still think we'll see some flops from the dying old cod but all in all his negative campaign, coupled with his attempted run from the first debate kinda sticks in people's mind as related.
If he hadn't run from that first debate and then tried to lie about it when we all knew it was because he (and his handlers: Bush/Cheney/GOP) was afraid to face the music on the economy, his smear tactics might carry more punch and really have hurt Obama. Now, instead, they look like more pathetic flaccid stabs from a befuddled, erratic maverick past his prime trying to down a young buck with a spaghetti noodle.
It's sad to watch. I actually wince for him when his ads come on. And then of course turn the channel.
True story. Once in camp when I was a kid we were out hiking. We stumbled upon this old proud buck who was swirling around in circles and not running from us like he should. We soon figured out that he was blind and no longer knew which way to run.. He was such a magnificent animal and had many scars from many nobel battles, but his most formidable enemy, age, finally caught up with him and he was very vulnerable. His rack was impressive; I think twelve points. This guy had seen some years and escaped the hunter's gun more times than I care to think about.
But his time was past. His battles were old battles and Winter was just around the corner. In an act of mercy the counsellor went back and dispatched him. They still pay tribute to him, mounted above the camp fireplace.
I think we should honor McCain and then mercifully end his campaign this November. This Winter will be particularly cold and relentless. That old buck just isn't up to the task.
Nate Silver is great. As Poblano on Daily Kos he called the Indiana and North Carolina race down to the county level. It was remarkable.
Wow Silhouette! Beautifully, movingly, said.
