Racism and the Union Voter

The blogosphere is abuzz about this speech by AFL-CIO chief Rich Trumka, talking to the United Steelworkers about racism in the labor movement and how they need to fight against it to get the right candidate, Barack Obama, into office.

    Wow indeed! This is the kind of speech that gives me hope and faith that people really might be able to learn how to improve themselves, and by doing so, improve their country. Maybe there is still hope….

    To all our conservative trolls, if they come here to comment, the big benefit of unionism is the wage gains which allowed any person regardless of color a ticket into the middle class. All members have equal footing for advancement, even if your family isn't from Kennebunkport or if your family is admirals in the US Navy.
