McCain is Right: Grass *is* Green
John McCain has an ad out already, using moments from the debate when Barack Obama segued into his rebuttals via agreement. (You can view the ad here.)
But Obama wasn’t just acknowledging common ground, and he definitely wasn’t tacitly deferring to McCain’s mastery. Rather, he assured the rest of us that we’re all seeing the same thing.
That we’re not crazy or stupid.
I think McCain has completely miscued this shot, and in the doing, demonstrates a total misread of the public mood. I’ve posted more on this at Polimom Says…

Yes, he seems to have an MO of a bitter vindictive man with blinders on. Magnify that to a world scale and we're in big trouble if this man succeeds to the Whitehouse. His myopic flashback fixation on “winning Iraq no matter what” is blinding him to the ever more troubling storm clouds brewing over Iran, Russia and China.
He is exactly in demeanor like the erratic and mypoic cowboy we have in the Whitehouse today. Not only does our nation not want four more years; the world will not tolerate it one more month. They're going to control our thugs if we cannot. Just like how we always say is our mission when we invade another country…
Think about it. Americans don't have a monopoly on punitive military action and nowadays we're in no financial position to tell other people not to do it.

That's right. And the flip side (and I think more telling) is that McCain could not even acknowledge the common ground he and Obama share.
It's another reminder of the very different ideas of bipartisanship that each candidate possesses.
Great post. McCain talks about reaching out to the other side, and then refuses to even look at the other side or acknowledge him in any respectful way. Obama finds points of agreement which acknowledges thath is opponent has standing in the debate. McCain caps off by using Obama's non-partisan gestures against him.
It's like that on so much. McCain says he puts country first. Yet he nominates Palin without getting to know her well enough to know if she could step into the job of president if necessary. etc. etc.
'Tis why I've taken an intense dislike to the man.
