In Part One, we learned that Sarah Palin has taken stands opposite John McCain on open government and sex education, feuds with members of her extended family, lies about little things as well as big things, has never expressed a conviction on a major issue, there is a concerted effort to quash an investigation in which she is accused of firing a political enemy, she attends a church where some pretty weird stuff gets preached and, as a true-blue Christianist, effortlessly mixes religion and politics.
On to Part Deux:
Palin billed taxpayers for over 300 nights spent in her own home during her first 19 months in office, charging a “per diem” allowance intended to cover meals and incidental expenses while traveling on state business. She also charged the state for travel expenses to take her children on official out-of-town trips, while her husband has billed the state for expenses and a daily allowance for trips he makes on official business for his wife.
Palin went to extraordinary lengths to hide her most recent pregnancy.
Palin made no mistake about the kind of politics she played in her first run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. Although elections are nonpartisan, she turned the race into a proxy war, tarring her opponent as “pro-abortion” and questioning his marital status. Oh, and she had the support of bar owners who wanted to stay open until 5 a.m. and not have to close earlier despite an epidemic of drunk-driving arrests and fatal accidents.
There were years of litigation and at least $1.3 million in extra costs for a sports complex in Wasilla, the biggest project that Palin undertook as mayor. This is because the town began building roads and installing utilities for the project before it had unchallenged title to the land.
Palin burnished her feminist credentials with rape victims.
What do the movies Wag the Dog and Man of the Year have in common with the Palin roll-out?
An effort greased by the McCain campaign to unseat the Alaska state senator overseeing the ethics investigation into whether Palin abused her power when she dismissed the state’s public safety commissioner has failed.
Palin is being touted as a special-needs advocate because of her son Trig, but her record is mixed at best.
Is Palin remotely qualified to be president? No. But that’s precisely what is so interesting.
Like White House Like Governor’s Office: The Palin administration won’t release about 1,100 emails, claiming these communications cover confidential policy matters although many of the subject lines refer to political foes, journalists and non-policy topics.
Palin is described as a news-media ingenue, but she’s anything but.
Palin’s grasp of the economy seems . . . uh, a little tenuous.
The outpouring of purple prose over Palin from the right-of-center punditocracy is amazing, but the usually down-to-earth Rick Moran has flown too near the sun in writing that she:
“[I]s like a virgin in the Sultan’s harem . . . the corrupting influence of power has yet to perform its dastardly sorcery on her and turn the pure as the driven Alaskan snow child into the coldly calculating political computer that will probably be her legacy once history is done with her.”
The media blow back against Palin’s incredible lightness, as well as the McCain campaign’s patent misrepresentation of her record, is underway, and not all of the blow backers are members of the “liberal media elite.”
Finally, we direct you to the Palin Cone of Silence Watch, which is now in Day 11, and nine questions one pundit would ask the guv when and if she takes them.
Here are some previous items that have been debunked:

Sliming Palin
September 8, 2008
False Internet claims and rumors fly about McCain's running mate.
Summary
We’ve been flooded for the past few days with queries about dubious Internet postings and mass e-mail messages making claims about McCain’s running mate, Gov. Palin. We find that many are completely false, or misleading.
Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62 percent. She didn’t cut it at all. In fact, she tripled per-pupil funding over just three years.
She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a “What if?” question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.
She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.
Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a “courtesty” when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.
Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to “debate both sides” of the evolution question, but she also said creationism “doesn't have to be part of the curriculum.”
——————
Keep up the good work Shaun, I'm sure the McCain campaign might consider sending you a thankyou note.
Leo-
true, those are some of the most superficial smears- it's the questions that Polman puts out that are the most relevant- whether or not she “banned” books is less important to me than her asking “what if” in the first place, and invoking Christian Jihadist, sorry, Crusaderist Jesus Camp talking points.
- she was never a member of AIP, then why did Dexter Clark ( officer of AIP) call her one? Todd was a member- but apparently potential VP spouses are off-limits ( if you're in the GOP) and Presidential Candidates families are not (Chelsea Clinton)
A member of a Seccessionist group that went to at least one event. Hmm, that's “country first”, oh really? Do you have a flag( says Eddie Izzard)?
http://mudflats.wordpress.com/2008/09/08/palin-…
Some info from the folks up in the Great White North-
http://mudflats.wordpress.com/
and their is also video of her at a fringe Pentacostal group, standing on stage receiving the “blessing” of Pastor End Times.
Interesting to note that after 2002 they left that church, hmmm only a handspan of years-
Even if she had been a memebr of the Alaskan Independence party I have no problem with that, the right to peaceful assembly is guaranteed by the 1st ammendment along with the right to petion the government.
As for religious beliefs and churches I don't think the Obama campaign would benefit much from having those chickens coming home to roost considering the remarks of the man he chose to be his spiritual mentor and campaign advisor until he came under fire and was thrown under the bus.
The fact is, she has been governor of the State of Alaska without her religion having any adverse effect on her governance. Remember she vetoed a bill that would have banned homosexual couples from recieving benefits against what one might expect to be the views of her religion. She consulted experts on the Alaska constitution forst, deemed that such a bill was in violation of thet Constitution and then vetoed it. Her actions there speak louder than all the what if scenarios democrats have tried to hurl at her hoping something would stick to the wall. What they have is a pile of foul smelling wastes on their own floor.
A good read on this from a liberal source in the UK
http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2008/se…
and another from a conservative source in the US

and a new poll figure:
McCain Now Winning Majority of IndependentsMajority of independents now prefer him over Obama, 52% to 37%

It’s understandable that Shaun would write an article like this.
What is not understandable is why Joe Gandelman wouldn’t exercise a modicum of editorial discretion by insisting that information presented be, at the very least, something that can be defended.
Is this site to become KosLight?
Everyone is here to discuss the issues and personalities without censorship, but with an implied agreement that mindless dishonest smears are below the dignity of this group.
Is this article something TMV is proud to present?
The people who went into such an immediate frenzy over Palin haven't looked back and aren't about to. They don't care about the authenticity of her image, about her extreme ideology, her hypocrisy, etc. All they care about is how she might boost their chances in November. This is part of a continuing celebration of deception and cynicism, and the reasons why this is true have been documented and fact-checked. Her supporters don't care how much is fiction or fact, all they care about is their infatuation and their hate of the left. John McCain couldn't have picked a more divisive and polarizing figure if he'd tried. She is loved by the base, but we'll see how well she wears. One thing is certain, they can't afford to let her become very exposed because the shine would start wearing away in short order.
I am not a fan of Palin and I am troubled by much of what has trickled out already.
That banned book list is clearly out of whack though. While even the question of whether books can be banned is enough to raise a serious eyebrow from me, let's stick to facts.
What is most fascinating about the Palin smears is how her fiercest critics are, in lock-step, now carefully walking back from the most appalling of them.
Sullivan, at The Atlantic, who was particularly disingenuous in his “just asking” slimes of Palin's pregnancy, is now posting about how wonderful Palin is for having Trig!
Bizarrely, Andrew Sullivan now even asserts that he has “defended” Palin on multiple occasions (careful review of Sullivan's writings over the past week or so, not surprisingly, yields nothing that could remotely be seen as a “defense”).
The NYT, where Keller defended the personal aspect of the reporting on Palin, now publishes an article celebrating baby Trig.
Meanwhile, multiple diaries alleging Palin's racist comments, are now being systematically deleted at KOS.
Clearly, the realization has spread across the Left that not only has the so-called “swiftboating” of Palin failed . . . . but it has actually helped her cause in creating sympathy and stimulating mass interest.
A collective “D'oh” could be heard across the American Left.
Ironically, had they focused solely and more subtly on legitimate points of qualifications, Palin's critics could have done her and McCain long-term damage.
I should note that some liberal commentators warned of this at the time — and Senator Obama himself declared the family smears out of bounds — but these voices of reason were drowned out amid the feeding frenzy.
D'oh indeed.
Shaun's continuing his unseemly descent, but hopefully others won't join him.
The undercutting of Palin by the Left is itself undercut by the nature and motives of those attempting the undercutting.
The more informed public is aware of the uneven treatment being given by the media to Palin (and McCain) versus Saint Obama and Biden, whose ethical problems have yet to be discussed openly. The liberal media risks a backlash if it is … excessively excessive in its abuse of Palin (and McCain). Look at who is attacking Palin and McCain, and why, is the immediate response to leftist hype (if not panic coupled with loathing) now that Palin has obviously changed the nature of the campaign year and the probability of each side's winning in November.
No, Marlowecan — some are not backing away from lock-step, and in fact stepping harder down the slime path, as Shaun continues to do on this Web site. But it is at their own risk of losing the sight of the Messiah taking the oath of office next year.
My second source for the banned book claim is now a dead link, so I have removed that reference.
In any event, the further away that we get from Palin's selection, the more extraordinarily poor it seems and the more McCain's legendary impetuosity becomes a genuine concern.
Being vice president — and having to take over as president should something happen to a 72-year-old whose health and temperament are problematic to begin with — is not something that you prepare for by several weeks of Cliff Notes tutorials.
The Republicans have managed a neat trick here: By doing whatever it takes, no matter how cynical, to try to keep the White House, they actually make the Democrats look good by comparison. And that is no mean feat.
“Is this site to become KosLight?”
It has been that way from the start.

“they actually make the Democrats look good by comparison”
If you're blind, or otherwise impaired, but that's not our problem, Shaun.
Your recent behavior on here (and that of others, I can also say) doesn't help.
Nice job of attacking Shaun as KOSsacklite, but Larison is making similar posts over at American Conservative.
http://amconmag.com/larison/

http://www.amconmag.com/larison/2008/09/08/this…
http://www.amconmag.com/larison/2008/09/06/dril…
The last paragraph of the above link is interesting, calling out McCain's lack of substance(like Obama's).
Larison is like Andrew Sullivan, without Sullys baggage.
Shaun – I have said from the beginning that I thought Palin's selection by McCain was a poor choice, and would eventually hurt him.
But from a pure political calculus, I don't see how that argument can be made at this moment. McCain is getting way more than the normal convention bounce (and the Friday announcement killed Obama's bounce).
The polls (which again I have said really mean nothing at this time) do show that it has had a very positive effect on his campaign, and there is no denying the energy and attention, both pro and con, that it has brought his campaign.
So how, exactly, does that equate to your comment of “the further away that we get from Palin's selection, the more extraordinarily poor it seems”, other than, for now, the fact it seems to have had the desired effect?
Sincerely,
Your personal troll
I'm surprised Shaun missed this one:
http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/31170_D…
“Is this site to become KosLight?”
It has been that way from the start.
No, it has not. I have been here from almost the very beginning. There has been a drift to the left, thenmore towards the hard left, by most top-line posters and commentators over the course of the Bush Presidency. Actually, despite my bitching about it too, and pining for the days of the 'good ol' TMV', it is an understandable reaction against whatever the current party in power is, and some truly contentious actions by the Bush Administration in particular.
jwest – “why Joe Gandelman wouldn’t exercise a modicum of editorial discretion”
Sorry, another one I can't buy into. As much as posts here have bothered me, by Shaun (a lot), the Jazz pregnancy post, etc., I cannot image how cutting off the flow of ideas we disagree with or that we think are spurious helps.
Joe has been reticent throughout the history of TMV to even censor incredibly abusive commentators (yes, WAY more abusive than me!
) unless there was no choice whatsoever.
I hope it stays that way.
AR:
I did not say that the Palin selection, as poor as it is, would hurt McCain.
In fact, in the short term it is giving him as tremendous boost. I do think that boost will diminish in the longer term as some voters fall out of love with Palin and the revelations about what an astonishing lightweight and liar she is gets traction and scares off swing voters.
My major point for the here and now is this: The Republicans have managed a neat trick. By doing whatever it takes, no matter how cynical, to try to keep the White House, they actually make the Democrats look good by comparison. And that is no mean feat.
This is how the right wing handles smears:
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/07/video-no-…
Class act.
Hell freezes over – good points/comments AustinRoth.
People are going to find that Palin's problem with the truth to the point of pathological lying is not so cute.
However, I feel she bombed in why she was really selected. The Hillaryites want someone who has detailed plans and will discuss issues – not just read prepared scripts of one liners.
Add to that the lying and her true ethical challenges and I think in a few weeks we may look back on this period as some quick explosion of diversion and little more.
Those who flocked to Palin who are not rightwing nuts and religious zealots will feel very foolish.
Rudi,
I am a member of Daily Kos and believe me, the people who run the site are no kossacks.
They tend to be a mix of center listing either right or left but, squarely centrist in either case.
And, by the way, Rudi, I am proud of being a member of Daily Kos, proud of being a lifelong progressive and proud to be a democrat.
“Even if she had been a memebr of the Alaskan Independence party I have no problem with that, the right to peaceful assembly is guaranteed by the 1st ammendment along with the right to petion the government.”
Better check your bicycle for pedal direction flow there Leo. Guess you don't have issues with the Seccessionists and people who want to see a divided America again. Not to mention a patent disregard for the United part of the US of A. I call them traitors. This flies in the face of the tens of thousands who died at Gettysburg, Antietem, Bull Run and many other battlefields. At least that was a war of substance over a basic human rights issue- this is about state's proprietary greed and me-first mentality- is that a cause greater than our own? Is that being a Uniter? Is that “Country First”?? Sure these groups are allowed to exist as pocket fringe PTA-like organizations, but an elected government official, or one who plans to run for office should have their heads fully examined before joining one or being associated by one.
LDS, Super , JWest and others- if you have problems with TMV- and the accent here is on Moderate, neither Democratic or Republican or Libertarian are in the banner heading; then I suggest you moonwalk back to your own comfort zone, personally attacking the columnists ad hominem only serve to paint you as another Posty McPostalot troll. Disagree with them all you want but don't be a d*ck, is all I'm saying. How you express that disagreement often can discolor the point you are trying to make.
As Jean Luc says… “Engage!”
It's about issues, unlike what Rick “lobbyist” Davis says. When the hot air deflates out of the balloons, we are all left to clean it up.
“There has been a drift to the left, then more towards the hard left, by most top-line posters and commentators over the course of the Bush Presidency.”
I stand corrected by a true veteran, though for a year or more the name of this site obviously has been incorrect — from the start of my visits to this site, it has been normally left and routinely “hard left.”
Interesting, refreshing honest remarks by another user:

“I am proud of being a member of Daily Kos, proud of being a lifelong progressive and proud to be a democrat.”
That's like Rachel Maddow: “I am a liberal.” I honestly had hoped Ted Kennedy had said that (“… and proud of it!”) at the Dem convention. Liberalism of the older kind (the kind Obama threatens to take us back to — retrogression) is discredited and to this day people are often afraid to say they're liberal. The “L” word (forming a title for one liberal's book, Reich's if I remember) is avoided. Someone needs to make it worth using again. (Who knows, a President Obama could end up surprising us.)

Remember November: I have already laid to rest the issue of Alaskan Independence and other movements. Statehood was given to Alaska in large part due to dissatisfaction there with treatment by Washington in earlier years, and many in Alaska were ready to secede and join Canada. Note that there is to this day much howling (pun intended among those who are knowledgeable phonetically) in Hawaii on behalf of secession and Hawaiian independence. No slander is aimed at them as is being done here toward Palin and Alaskan activists, and against the South in the typically ugly, bigoted way? That's because the Hawaiian activists are lefties, and have the PC Seal of Approval. Hypocrites.

“Sliming Palin”
Given the increase in support of white women now for McCain-Palin, and likely increase soon among working-class “Reagan Democrat” whites, we'll see such white people subjected to all kinds of ugly abuse (sexist in the case of the women, too, the way many Obama fans attacked Clinton this year) similar to the scummy way white Southerners are treated, in ugly leftist brown-shirt fashion.
And more broadly, it's likely soon we'll see bashing of the West (other than the West Coast) as well as the South once the regional disparities in support for GOP vs. Dem campaigns become clearly evident.
I agree with Remember November. After all, the right to peaceful assembly is also granted to the KKK and American National Socialists (Nazi party) but that doesn't mean it would be a good idea to vote for one of their ex-members.
Country First— is the antithesis to what we have had for the last 8 years, where Bush/Cheney put the welfare and future of the RNC ahead of our national interests. And most of the time McCain went along with them–kissing up to Bush after he lost to him.
Can we really trust someone who belonged or whose husband belonged to the AIP to put “Country First”?
The public record vs Ms Palin's current comments clearly reflect someone who has an inordinate amount of problems telling the truth. While it is easy for commenters to belittle this as leftist attacks, the clear evidence is she is LYING!
Perhaps off topic, but
“After all, the right to peaceful assembly is also granted to the KKK and American National Socialists (Nazi party) but that doesn't mean it would be a good idea to vote for one of their ex-members.”
kritt11, I think you may want to pass this message along to the folks in West Virginia who have kept Byrd in for the length he has been.
Well, we have established the difference between the right and left leaning sides of TMV.
When an easily disproved smear appears against the liberals, as it did with Obama’s homosexuality or his Muslim religion, the conservatives quickly debunk the rumor and condemn the person trying to spread it.
When an easily disproved smear appears against the conservatives, the liberals on this site go to extraordinary lengths to perpetuate and rationalize it.
Intellectual honesty, common decency, integrity, class.
Deception, distortion, dishonesty, tacky.
Pick the group you want to belong to.

howling….haole…clever- as I have Hawaiian ohana I get it.
Lefty or righty ( ironic that right handed people are left brain dominant and vice versa) I don't care- If you're a Southerner and hide behind the flag of Sedition ( ie the Confederate Flag ) and fly it over a state office building, that's borderline treason, not heritage. fly it over your home/trailer/apartment whatever- but to invoke it at a government level is bad form. That flag represents hate, division and distrust. Much like the Swastika paraded around by neo nazis and klueless klucking klowns.
Memo to the Southern States- that was 148 years ago. Lee Surrendered, you lost! Get over it. There's too much ill will associated with that flag, and Southerners who display Johnny Reb do so knowing it annoys the crap out of many of us.
-Should we then, also fly the Mexican flag over Texas state buildings, because Texas was once part of Mexico?
-Hmmm, yet Linda Lingle's a Republican Governor. Curious coincidence.
or David Duke.
jchem- It may interest you to know——
As a voter, I would have looked for someone else besides Byrd, if I lived in West Virginia. Yes, people can change, but why risk it? Also— this is a bit O/T but he is old and getting senile. I am not enough of a partisan Democrat to support people in my own party without some trepidation.
Just as I criticize Sen Stevens for his indictment, but would also vote against William Jefferson because of his.
jwest- Thanks to the rumor about Obama's muslim faith, 17% believe his loyalties lie with Islam. And spare us the holier-than-thou self-righteousness. McCain lost the South Carolina primary, partially because of the Rovian rumor that he had an out-of-wedlock black child. Who on the right bothered to debunk that one? And what about the swift-boaters who demolished Kerry's chances??? Willie Horton?
Your side has political smearing and innuendo down to an exact science. Remind me why Karl Rove is advising the very candidate he helped to defeat in 2000!
Kritt,
You can thank your girl Hillary for any of the Obama-Muslim rumor. That came out long before we cared about Obama.
The South Carolina rumor has always been blamed on Rove, but there has never been any evidence and those with sense attribute it to someone on the religious fringe. And yes, it was debunked immediately after it surfaced.
Everything the Swift Boat Vets said is true. The reward for disproving any claim still is uncollected. Oh, and we are still waiting for those medical records he promised to release 4 years ago.
Willie Horton was true also. Remember, that was an ad originally made by a democrat.
Look, if you’ve got something that’s true, bring it on. If you see something against the competitor that you know is false, have a little class and say so.
jwest
Same thing in '06, when one e-mail quote by Mark Foley blossomed into a media forest of stink blossoms after Mark was outed by a mysterious website that appeared & then disappeared a week later. Ditto the 'macaca' stupidity by Sen Allen [who I never liked]. Both deserved what they got, but the snarky left does a hundred of these mud-splats against Palin & the nutjob lefties on this thread are in full cry even before the moon is full.
The obvious prototype the leftist media types imitate are the authoritarian ideologies and they imitate Goebbels & Stalin rather than tabloid media. The BIG SMEAR!
The MSM is holding back, but the blogosphere is already drawing criticism for trying to do to Palin what the MSM couldn't do to GWB in '04 [Dan Rather, RIP].
It appears from Gallup and other polls that a huge surge of women & independents is moving McCain/Palin's way. Nobody's going to fault her for per-diem to visit her husband and kids 500 miles from Juneau!
Indeed, the tone-deaf crew on TMV might not realize that it's a FAMILY issue & that is what's driving a lot of the surge to M/Palin.
Newsweek has a good link on “Sliming Sarah Palin” that the lefty screamers on this site might visit. Calm you down a bit as you sink into the quicksand.
Shaun, thank you for finding and posting all these links. Very helpful.
AR, good and surprising comment. Don't you risk losing your troll credentials by defending Joe and company here?
DLS, jwest. typical stuff from you.
The GOP openly runs a smear and fear campaign designed to distract from the issues rather than define for voters what the policy differences are. It's all lies and that seems OK with you, right?
Shaun wrote:
“My second source for the banned book claim is now a dead link, so I have removed that reference.”
– and I wonder why that is, because it has been so throughly debunked even before you origionally posted it? Maybe they saw they had been mentioned on Fact check as well and knew the gig was up on it. Perhaps you should check there and elsewhere as well before posting such assertions.
Stuff it, GD.
That more like it?
jwest
“When an easily disproved smear appears against the liberals, as it did with Obama’s homosexuality or his Muslim religion, the conservatives quickly debunk the rumor and condemn the person trying to spread it.”
You mean the ones that showed a purported Osama/Obama protest poster with Romney? Yeah he was real quick to put the kibosh on that one.All chuckles and smiles that Mitt.
The one about his birth certificate? go back in RCP archives and see who was championing the debunking of that. Conservatives? I don't think so. Fox news saying Madrassa madrassa madrassa in February…? Who on the right said “back off”???
Michelle Obama's proud comment? How quick the Right jumped down her throat for that and was spun out of context….
Obama “dissing troops” to go play basketball or that there weren't cameras available for a photo op? debunked and explained and not by the McCain camp.
Fact is Obama has taken the high road far more often than McCain.
so…what besides the recent Hot Air article do you have? Suddenly Conservatives are Agents of Truth?
C'mon man, quit lying.
I would have to say the smearing has been done with equal vigor on both sides. Don't paint the conservatives as saints and ubiquitous fact-checkers.
i think people are suffering from information overload/selective memory regression.
jwest- If you are insisting the swift-boaters did not smear Kerry, there's no hope for you—-you are doomed to inhabit rightwingnuttia for perpetuity. The South Carolina smear was attributed to Rove- yes he covers his tracks –but he is famous for dirty tricks which is why McCain needs him. Why else would he want to dirty his hands?
Also, the rumor about Obama started with Fox's relevation that he had spent time in Indonesia in a madrassa. The right spread this around with relish, mispronouncing his name as they did so.
RememberNovember/Kritt,
We could go through each item and argue, but my point is geared to what is happening here on TMV.
I wish I had the power to police the entire right side of the internet, just as I’m sure you two would like to keep the left accurate, but we just can’t do that.
What we can do is try to keep this website accurate and make sure unsubstantiated smears aren’t presented as facts without being first challenged and then ridiculed to prevent reoccurrence.
Articles like Shaun’s diminish the credibility of TMV and, by association, all of us.
this is only slightly off-topic… but rick moran has a new post up at Right Wing Nut House today, and despite its overall 'meatiness', it has at least one factual error:
this isn't quite true — or, it is, depending i guess on which direction you're headed. ketchikan itself is on an island, and does indeed have a population of 7500. that has never been the issue. what is at issue is that the “bridge to nowhere” was to lead over the intervening 1/2-mile tongass strait to gravina island, pop. 50. though ketchikan int'l airport is located on gravina, the proposed bridge definitely seemed to be more a question of convenience than necessity, as a ferry service crosses the strait to gravina once every half-hour.
interesting that, for all of their purported rugged individualism (and of course, massive oil profits) the state wanted the rest of us to pay for their bridge
Slightly off topic:

He actually said it was a wonderful thing on the day she was announced as a candidate.
ChrisWWW:
Sully can take care of himself, but I don't expect he'll do so here so i will.
Perhaps your world is frozen in time, but like many news stories involving unknowns, the Palin story has EVOLVED and we no a good deal more about Trig this week than we did 12 days ago.
Sully's comments were appropriate then just as his latest comments, which I happen to endorse, are appropriate now.
Also, I'd like to point out that I never personally saw anyone mention that Palin was part of the Independence Party. The charge was leveled against her husband.
Think of it as a more stunning version of version of Michelle Obama's lack of pride in her country.
jwest:
funny how he puts the “obama is a muslim” meme out there again, albeit in a roundabout way. now that took guts, i tell ya.. guts.
jwest- I don't mind trying to do that, but somehow I don't think either of us are right for the job. Lets leave it to Joe G- since its his site, and he seems to be less ideologically oriented than either of us.
Chris– At least Michelle never tried to get the state of Illinois to leave the union!
