Exactly what was meant to be said here? Were the tickets to the convention originally promised to people to be free of charge? If people aren't told that, they obviously don't have the right to expect it, as if it is some kind of handout or an entitlement.

DLS--
"Two known Democratic supporters are outraged at their own party after being solicited to buy tickets to Barack Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field next Thursday, CBS4 reports. The seats were distributed for free to the general public."
According to the link, they were passed out free to the public. But those with deep pockets were asked to cough up $1000 for them. According to the CBS4 link, some have called this "an underground fundraiser". I guess I'd be a bit ticked to know that I had to pay that kind of cash for tickets that were originally given away for free. Maybe the $1000 tickets provided better seats?

"Club seating," or "skybox seating," corporate-GOP-style!
