Don’t Look For John Edwards To Be Obama’s Veep

This kind of ongoing story and especially the latest twist is a national political career killer. Even though it is in a tabloid, unless this latest story is refuted it lingers out there..

Even without the tabloid story, I think there are far better choices for VP out there. Edwards already was not particularly helpful to Kerry in 2004, and I doubt he would bring in too many voters who were not already planning on voting for Obama. Obama needs to pick someone who balances out his weak points, which are a lack of foreign policy experience and military service. Sen Jim Webb would help in both of these areas; Gov Richardson would help in the first area. Even big-mouthed Biden would be a better choice than Edwards, altho I think he will probably get the Sec of State or Def slot.

    With that said, IMHO
the dream ticket is still Obama/Clinton--- because it would be the best unifying move for Democrats and would ensure that Bill Clinton was not sabotaging the nominee. The GOP would be stymied by their combined support electorally and in superior fund-raising.

Agree on both comments (if Hil can somehow stifle Bill once she gets the nod)

I think they should make him our US ambassador to the UN. He's popular in the rest of the world, and it would give him and HIll some breathing room for his ahem extracurricular activities. He' s already travelling a lot anyway.

Pretty Boy means a sales role. That means an ambassadorship, somewhere.
