A Really Rotten Guy Gets Justice

Often when I post my rantings around here I expect to get some opposing comments from our readers and even a fellow writer or two.

But today I think we can all agree that the capture of Radovan Karadzic is a good thing for everyone concerned. He was one of the most brutal and repressive of the many warlords who ravaged Bosnia and Serbia during the 1990′s. According to the reports coming in he is probably personally liable for at least 8,000 deaths of innocent men and boys.

This is part of a fairly good trend that is starting to bring people to justice for crimes that they commit even when they are a head of state. Hopefully the trend will continue in places like Rwanda, Zimbabwe, etc

One difference: 100 years is a lot closer to the 'horizon' or 'conditions on the ground' deteminant for withdrawal than the CURRENT price of gas is to any energy policy, Arguably, Obama could put out the same ad by interchanging his and McCain's names.

In the interests of appearing to be neutral, judges we often equate wildly different degrees of being wrong. Non-judgment is often as misleading as biased judgement..
