His political support is plumetting in Connecticut.

    The accountability moment came and went for Connecticut voters two years ago. It won't return for another four years.

    It doesn't matter what his approval ratings are today. It doesn't matter matter if they drop another 20 points to a George W. Bush-style rating.

    Elections have consequences.

    This is, not incidentally, the value of living in a representative republic and not an absolute democracy. Even the most admirable of our political titans...Lincoln, or FDR, or Churchill...were challenged by the polls (and likely would not have survived the public opinion swings in a pure democracy).

    Were the US to be ruled by daily public opinion polling, Angelina would be the Queen of America.

    (Yes, and I know many people would be pleased at that outcome...Angelina whipping America into shape...a tattoo on every back, and babies for all :)
