Gutter Politics 2008: Email Tries To Image-Link Obama To Hitler

Of course, if a candidate is a good orator you MUST image-link him to Hitler (if you can’t debate a candidate on issues, just raise that wild, loudmouthed guy with the mustache who murdered so many of my Russian and Polish relatives). And that’s part of the content of the latest email sent out to smear Democratic presumptive nominee Sen. Barack Obama.

The email is credited to Bill Brown, former president of Graham’s ministry, which could be accurate or not accurate since anyone with a keyboard can type a name.

But to whoever sent it out (let’s just call him “Mr. X”):

Mr. X: My relatives on my grandfather Abraham Ravinsky’s side came in contact with the Nazis. They lived during the time of Hitler and under Hitler. They knew Hitler. Hitler was an enemy of theirs. Hitler murdered many of them. Hitler wiped out almost all of my grandfather’s family.

And, Mr. X, Barack Obama is no Hitler.

Also Mr. X: Just in case you don’t realize it. There are people who might not be enamored with Obama. But when you send out something as reprehensible and simplistic as this you’re likely to find that with some voters, you’re going to get them to vote FOR Obama. If you dislike him so much, why not send out an email that debates him on issues — if debate is what you really seek (and from the sound of the email, it isn’t serious debate on issues).

totally agree. If you accept that this entire election was about GOP assistance to first promote, then demote Obama when Clinton was out of the way, the crazy antics will make more sense.

Recent defacing of public cars in Florida with "down with Obama" and "down with McCain" slogans and leaving Hillary calling cards...most certainly was done by anyone but Hillary people.

It's almost getting juvenile. No, actually, it IS getting juvenile. Look for more weirdness as the days wear on. The full GOP/BigMedia switch against Obama won't come until just after dyed-in-the-wool catholic pro-lifer Governor Ritter of Colorado presides over a convention in August with the predetermined goal and intent of nominating Obama.

When I saw Tom Brokaw interviewing him and his Wyoming dyed-in-the-wool "democrat" buddy, how the trap would be guaranteed became crystal clear.

The weird antics in the meantime will just be a reflection of the nervous GOP trying to insure that Clinton has NO CHANCE whatsoever of gaining any further delegate support, while taking constant, subtle yet undermining pot-shots at Obama. The full-scale assault will take place, along with the scare card, just after his nomination becomes official at Ritter et al's convention in Denver.

When you plug in GOP/BigMedia Obama Trap, it all makes perfect, albeit insidious, sense..

Joe is going to get a lot of use from the "Gutter Politics 2008" logo in this election.

This will be the nastiest election in memory...at least since 1968. Every day there is something tacky (like Kos' bizarro rant that McCain's teeth disqualify him from the presidency...a rant denounced by most of his commenters) or bizarre (the car defacing noted by Silhouette above).

Personally, I am surprised there hasn't been more racist stuff...but of course there is still time.

Well the far left has profaned Bush with the word Oberfuhrer. Nazi. Heir for years.

While I do not agree with its use and Barak Obama is no Hitler and actually is not even a bad guy I will repeat.

What goes around. Comes around.

The right did it to Bill Clinton. The left has done it to Bush. The right is now doing it to Obama. Actually I believe its more likely Clintonistas as they are called but thats a different story. Until the cycle stops it will just keep going around and around.
