Attorney General Eric Holder has recused himself from the Associated Press leak investigation. He will officially announce his recusal at a press conference Tuesday afternoon. Fox News is reporting his recusal comes partially because Holder has testified about potential national security leaks surrounding a May 7, 2012 Associated Press story. Source
The Justice Department issued a statement saying: US Attorney General Eric Holder recused himself from the decision to subpoena the phone records of AP reporters.
The decision to seek the media records was made by the deputy attorney general, James Cole, NBC News reports. Eric Holder said he’s confident that Justice Department officials followed the rules in AP subpoena.
