Romneys Clearly Unhappy Over Second Debate
How upset was the Romney family over the second debate between President Barack Obama and Republican Presidential nominee former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney? The apparent answer: very.
And here are three signs.
First, there’s this photo of Romney during the debate, a Getty Images photo that is now showing up on blogs and news sites all over the Internet. It doesn’t show the face of a happy camper to say the least:

Second, there’s the CNN interview with a facial coding expert who said he knew Romney lost the debate because afterwards Ann Romney looked embittered:
And third — and perhaps most unfortunate and if you follow America’s long tradition of spirited political campaigns, shocking — this comment by Romney’s son and political confidante Tripp on how he felt hearing Obama call his father a liar:
“Well, you want to jump out of your seat and rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him.”
Exactly what kind of message does that send to some of the nutcases out there. That’s important for prominent people to keep in mind since all nuts are not sold in bulk at your local Sprouts health food store…

Romney was a bully in high school and still is one. Seems that he’s passing his family values down to his son. Quite frankly I think those are values we can do without in a civilized America.
I understand your concern about nuts, but nuts can come up with reasons to do what they want no matter the circumstances or what anyone says. That’s why we call them nuts.
SBLA…ever wonder about those people that start fights at children’s sporting events??? There was a perfect example of one.
Tagg Romney’s second sentence says even more.
More important than the secret service and the process, Barack Obama is the President of the United States. That is why you do not take a swing at him, Mr. Romney.
Dabb, but so many people on the right don’t see Obama as their President. And this is a larger problem. Though many on the left said Bush wasn’t their President after the 2004 election (and though I probably lean more left than I do right), he was still my President. I’d laugh when he acted like a bumbling idiot (which was most of the time)… but at the end of the day, I still recognized his role as our leader and the commander-in-chief.
Just as Obama screwed up in the first debate, Romney did it in the second. I hope neither one screws up in the third and gives us less politics and more information to make it a clearer choice.
Gee, Tripp, maybe if you’re really upset about your father being called a liar, no matter how indirectly, you should encourage him to tell the truth.
A comment made to a “confidant” is made public without full context and folks made broad assumptions. How about the simple answer– He loves his father, he knows his father is a good man and not a liar, and it angers him to see anyone (even a sitting President) call him a liar. I think all of us watching the debate wanted at times to step down on the floor and make a correction or bring out a point that was missed by both candidates.
But his father is a liar, so is Obama… they are politicians.
They lie for a living.
Dabb your observation is spot on… Perfect example of lack of internal control…
Tagg son of Romney operating with out an internal locus of control…notice how he say he would stop himself from doing it, but gives that power to the Secret Service….
This totally highlights what i see in Romney and Ryan….the decency meter within is not developed…. what they can get by with is determined by external getting caught or NOT…..
chrisar66 this was not a comment made in private to a confident…
this was a comment made on a radio broadcast the morning after the debate….
SL said it.
