Obama's record on job creation: How good or bad? (via The Christian Science Monitor)
When the latest monthly numbers on job creation came out on Sept. 7, the candidates for president went into spin mode full tilt. President Obama touted that “business once again added jobs for the 30th month in a row,” while Republican Mitt Romney said the 95,000 people who found jobs in August were…

Sixty nine percent of Americans like what Bill Clinton says and most of all what he did with our economy. According to Bill Clinton, the last fifty year job creation scorecard shows that under democratic presidents including the current president, almost twice as many private sector jobs have been created. Comparing the performances would be like comparing a quarterback that has a fifty percent rating with one that has a hundred percent rating. There is no comparison. Imagine how many more jobs would have been restored and or created but for the obstruction of Mitch McConnell and the tea party majority in the house.
If we do nothing we are going to risk unemployment going up instead of down. There is no need for the military to be as big as it was when we were fighting two “wars.” Now that the “wars” are ending there will be less need for physical troops. This in turn will reduce costs and spending but will increase unemployment if we do nothing to create more jobs for all americans. But wait, many will object to a smaller military presence. I’ve got you covered.
Remember “Cash for Clunkers.” the program that revitalized the U.S. auto industry?
How about “Bulldozers for Bazookas?”
The infrastructure of this country is antiquated. Why don’t we transfer infrastructure maintenance and improvement to the defense department, train the troops to work in related jobs and attain the best of both worlds. Immense military presence and improved infrastructure! We could catch and surpass competing nations with high speed rail that traversed this great land of ours. By the way, border fence crowd, I did not leave you out. The high speed rail along the boarder would require a fence to keep people from crossing the tracks!
Who says the government can’t create jobs? The government started creating jobs with the ratification of the constitution, if not prior to that. Today’s world’s greatest military force is made up of U.S. government workers and or contractors. Our government can and should create more jobs. Put the american people back to work and we will have a stronger America!
A big difference between now and any other time in history is that the jobs are leaving and Americns (not corps, but real people) are not in a position to compete for the new jobs in a new economy. Why is that? Education.
The days of low to middle skilled workers having a house with 2 cars are over. Schools must get better and higher education must get cheaper. The world is blow our doors off right now.
