What’s inane is passing a resolution honoring ramadan. Why was this necessary? This is just pandering and dhimmitude. Since when did congress ever pass a resolution honoring any other religion’s holidays? What about the separation of religion and state which the left ordinarily would be screaming about? How would the left have reacted if Congress passed a resolution honoring a Christian holiday and commending Christians for their faith? You can bet they would be screaming about the separation of church and state and how what Congress did was unconstitutional. Why do muslims get special treatment? It’s this sort of double standard which liberals apply that is so infuriating. If this resolution hadn’t passed, thus giving preferential treatment to muslims, there would be no need for those 42 Congressmen to stage this protest. I agree with the statement they are making. Liberals, despite public statements about equality, really believe that those other than whites, Christians and Jews ought to be given special treatment, that the rules shouldn’t apply to them. When they talk about keeping religion and state separate, they really are only referring to our Christian-Judeo heritage. It’s ok for the government to promote islam though. That’s a politically correct religion.

On December 15 the House of Representatives passed a resolution “protecting the symbols and traditions of Christmas” by an overwhelming 401-22 vote. Of course, from newsmax
Or how about this?
The resolution states “The House of Representatives recognizes the importance of the symbols and traditions of all Americans including observers of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, Eid al-Adha, Lohri, Bodhi Day, the Birth of Guru Gobind Singh, Yule, Zarathosht Diso, Three Kings Day, the Feast of the Nativity, and other celebrations; strongly disapproves of attempts to ban references to these traditions and expresses support for these traditions and use of their symbols, for those who celebrate these holidays.â€
Congresswoman Sánchez introduced the resolution after Representative Joann Davis (R-VA) introduced a similar resolution earlier in the week that only recognized the symbols and traditions of Christmas as those that should be protected and supported.
Can someone point to anything the GOP has done recently that doesn’t make it look like the party of white Christian xenophobes? Howard Dean wasn’t that far off, after all.
Sometimes, when talking to friends overseas, I find myself being nervous, in fear of having to hear the reaction to some of the stuff our illustrious lawmakers are up to. I can’t even claim that it’s just a few nutcases; there are too many if them. I can’t deny that they’re America, too – but I wish I could.
Its Rush Limbaugh’s America, lol. Talk radio is taking over our cultural norms. To everyone who still believes that their listeners are just a few nutcases on the fringe of the political spectrum, just remember, 2 years ago illegal immigration was still a non-issue in the GOP, and that immediately after 9/11, Americans believed al queda had little or nothing to do with the Muslim community as a whole.
But we now know we should hate ,fear or ignore anyone who doesn’t look and think like us. We are regressing into the 1950′s mentality as a society, because we are so afraid of multiculturism. Yet, doesn’t uber-nationalism and rejection of other sects represebt an even bigger danger?
DLS- LOL. Gun-toting, HETEROSEXUAL (and repressed), white Christian xenophobes!

No wonder so little gets done.
You say that like it’s a bad thing… ;0)

May those “GUN-TOTIN’ white Christian xenophobes” will go the way of Basra Shiite sectarian groups.
I can’t even laugh at this stupidity.
