   This is so true it hurts. I am so sick of hearing politicians talk about how we can’t afford universal health care, we can’t afford infrastructure without raising taxes, we can’t afford to help people in this country, etc.

   Meanwhile, those same people are the ones defending the obscene amount of our money that our country spends on new weapons and new wars (more than any other country on Earth!) I say it’s high time we started beating swords into plowshares. With the amount of money we’ve spent in Iraq ALONE, we could have fixed every suspect bridge in this country and had money left over! Not to mention the schools and all the other crumbling infrastructure we have. Defend yes, Attack NO.
