About TMV Reviews

sorry.jpg

You’ve seen some great reviews here by others at TMV — but you should have been seeing more reviews — the ones I promised I myself would be doing…the regular CD, movie, DVD and book reviews. BUT:

Due to a series of personal complications since January, three trips to the East Coast, subsequently falling behind on a zillion things, and now being in a season with extensive car travel (you can’t post while stuck in traffic heading up to LA), in addition to some technical issues and continued plans to upgrade our server, I’m way behind on reviews I announced in posts here and told some folks in emails that I was going to write.

This will change very soon, hopefully, with the first of many regular (some long-delayed) reviews starting this week and increasing with regularity. These reviews could include some unusual topics such as offbeat books, looks at modern and classic comedy on DVDs and TV (we carry a lot of posts on unintentional comedy — those are the ones that quote politicians making promises).

So stay tuned. And, on a personal note from me to U, sorry for my own delay..

    Looking forward to it!

PS You do a great job! Thanks for everything!

I-5 and I-405 are routinely parking lots at bad traffic times, e.g. I-5 near Carmel Valley from 1 to 6 p.m. Couldn’t you jot off a few quick notes then, while simultaneously admiring the woman in the SUV in the next lane putting on mascara
    (JUST KIDDING!)

Just to say, Joe, you don’t have anything to apologize for.

I have not been by TMV much in the past months, as I had to fly home for a health crisis with my Mom. But I understand, Joe, that you experienced something similar with your father.

As such, I am astonished and impressed that you can keep TMV moving…along with your own life and work. Me, I am knackered, and my own work has been pretty much on the back burner these past months…and Mom (fortunately) lives in a country with universal health care, so my stress has come mainly from accessing and working the bureaucracy for her.

Anyhow, just to say if you read this Joe, that all things considered, I believe most folks think you have done an exceptional job here.

Nothing to say “sorry” for at all.

I’ll send something next month, when time.
