And now another gem from TMV’s favorite artist of verse, Michael Silverstein, aka Wall Street Poet:
Imagine you are a Republican Congressman. Look at what’s happening in Iraq today. Contemplate the futility, indeed, the stupidly, of trying to salvage this long lost cause with a “surge.” Now think ahead to the election of 2008, and your Democratic opponent’s TV commercials showing how you supported these policies long after the public had found them terribly wanting. Then consider this tip…
A Tip For Republicans In Congress
When next election time is here
One name on ballots won’t appear
Bush won’t be there for folks to jeer
‘Bout voter wrath he need not fear.
But those in Congress who now cleave
To dreams few but Bush still believe
Will get in ’08 no reprieve
They’ll get the boot, be forced to leave.
Beltway pros know when to waiver
When it’s time to show disfavor
Giving views a diff’rent flavor
Switching now is your job saver.

Effecting change without street violence. Liberal progress in action.
To think that the repubs spent all that money on riot gear, (soon to be half price at your local surplus store).
What a marvelous poem.
I see cunbayas, picnics, and, fiery marshmallows burning Bush in effigy.
Americans demand term limits. The lack of them here and one disgusting aspect of Big Government (people who live in Washington, make it their career and their life’s work, the federal government) is to liberals’ advantage currently. Many GOP members of Congress will, of course, outlast the Bush administration and subsequent administrations as well. They have “seen ‘em come and seen ‘em go,” have big egos to match their great excess of time in Washington, and probably don’t see the need to tolerate any more evasion or outright confrontation from the Bush people.
(Even the Republican members of Congress are tiring of the games they are facing from the Bush administration)
DLS- Wow didn’t know you were a Bush-hater.
