Commenting Moderation Concerns Addressed

Dear TMV Readers and Commenters.

We have found some abuse and a loophole in the comment moderation tools. Because of this, we have been forced do some hard verification of access and other features on the site. This has cleared moderation queues due the loophole and abuse. Thus effectively giving all who are in good standing full commenting privileges again. Commenting moderation also has now been locked and limited to myself, Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes, and Joe Gandelman (except for moderating your own comments).

We apologize for the frustration this has caused. But we are going to look at this as a clean slate for comments. Let’s try to disagree without directed venom (aka senseless personal attacks).

We will continue to moderate the comments with less hands in the cookie jar.

* NOTE: You can use this post to test your commenting ability. I will delete these tests after a day. Thank you. *

Glad you are back. Missed your constructive comments – your meaningless liberal bashing not so much. Stick to the informative links and constructive criticism and we will all be happy and better informed.

  5. ProfElwood says:

I don’t know, Ron. He just may balance out a certain Republican basher we picked up in the meantime.

  6. Marsch says:

just testing but that’s too short so I’ve added a few more words to my short comment to make it appear that I actually have something I’d like to say at this time of the morning.

  7. ShannonLeee says:

I refuse to moderate my own posts!! I intend on making them more extreme!!!

oh wait…that isn’t what you meant.

New York 9th – Go Turner!

Time for a reminder that it is the Dems that actually should be having their own primary.

  10. sinjns says:

As a daily reader of all the posts and comments I’m hoping that this will tone down the rhetoric from both sides of the aisle. I will admit that even at its most vicious, its tame compared to other sites, which is the reason I’m here everyday.

  11. Anna says:

    This is my test comment.

  12. Allen says:

I had been sorely missing ProfElwood, so I see he is now back!

Many thanks for handling this. Too bad it was necessary, but I’m glad you found the loophole. :-)

CO, I hope you aren’t holding your breath re: a dem primary… although I agree it could be interesting.

  14. JSpencer says:

Btw, it’s nice to pop back in here and see that Dorian and my comments haven’t “disappeared” . . . yet ;-)

  15. It said, “Your comment was a bit too short. Please go back and try again.”

    Uh, ok.

    Huh?
