The Event: Chapter 14

Mick LaSalle published the 14th chapter of The Event. I know that quite some of you are as addicted to this story as I am, so to you all I say: go check it out, it is another great chapter.

In this chapter we also find out more about Lyle B. East’s past and… Whitaker Sr. thoughts about his son.

Also: Monroe Sr. and Whitaker Sr. decide to join forces. Their goal: to safe as many people as possible from their evil sons. Will they succeed?

Lastly, the conversation between Jessica and her father is one of the best conversations of The Event.

I’m speechless at this point, MvdG. At least I have a person to ride for now, even though she’s late in seeing all this, now I’m fearful for her and hope she can make it through this ordeal in one piece.

  2. CP: yes, I was happy with that as well. When Sadie died, I have to admit, I was a bit annoyed. She was the person one truly identified with. Now, luckily, we can root for Jessica

Mike, thanks for the link but please a bit less info on the chapter before we read it :)

  4. Sam: I gave as little information as possible!

  5. ChuckPrez says:

Sam, he’s just buttering you up to get ready for it…it get freakier and freakier by the chapter lol

MvdG, Jess is my new person to ride for now, at least she sees what’s up. I still miss Sadie though.

  6. Yep, me too.

Quite a compelling story huh? I hope it gets published soon – I want to reread it in bookform, so i don’t have to wait a week before being able to read a new chapter.

    I’m impatient like that.

I’m at the point where I can no longer wait a week for the next chapter…when I read a book I usually read it cover to cover right then and there. Now my hopes are on Jen and Em to stop it…now Madame Press Secretary? She’s still in denial (which is not a river in Egypt, by the way) though she’s starting to see it…it’s most likely too late for her. At this point, the narrator of the story and her husband don’t mean much to me…I’m worried about the rest.

  8. Yeah I agree completely with your comment. That’s how I see it as well.

However, Mary could still be surprising: don’t forget her name Mary. I mean, what is Mick trying to say by giving her that name? Mary, for Catholics, Mother of God, Mother of the Faith…

  9. ChuckPrez says:

Oh yes in novels like this I’m always expecting the unexpected…her actions in Chapter 14 may be a precursor to something greater…however, we’re forced to wait until next week.
